the 7’3 Max Zhang attended the University of California in 2008 and played as a bench player on the Golden Bears. In 2010 he decided to return to China and play professionally in the CBA signing with the Shanghai Sharks. With steady production, especially on the defensive end, Zhang ZhaoXu was able to play himself into the Chinese National team in 2010 playing in the FIBA World Championships in Turkey. Since he has signed a big contract with the Shanghai Sharks to stay loyal to Yao Ming and the team. Unfortunately with the raise of Zhou Qi, Wang Zhelin, and other more talented Centers, Max has since dropped out of the national team. He is the starting Center for the Shanghai Sharks and is their biggest asset on the team.
