Best Fight Scenes: Yasuaki Kurata

Best Fight Scenes: Yasuaki Kurata
This Japanese martial artist and actor has an extensive martial arts background which includes a 7th degree black belt in Karate, 3rd degree in Judo, and 2nd degree in Aikido. Having appeared in numerous Japanese and Hong Kong films, Kurata has crossed paths with many Kung Fu movie legends. His most recognizable role is in “Fist of Legend” starring Jet Li, where Kurata portrays the fictionalized version of Gichin Funakochi, the real life founder of Shotokan Karate. But even earlier, he had appeared alongside Gordon Liu in 1978’s “Heroes of the East”. He has also frequently collaborated with other martial arts stars such as Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, and Sammo Hung in movies like “Eastern Condors”, “Millionaire’s Express”, and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Lucky Stars”. So here are my favorite Yasuaki Kurata fight scenes.

1. Fist of Legend
2. Heroes of the East/Shaolin vs. Ninja
3. So Close
4. Legend of a Fighter
5. Book of Heroes
6. The Secret of the Shaolin Poles
