Best Fight Scenes: Michelle Yeoh
One of the most famous female action stars, Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress who began her film career in the 1985 Hong Kong action movie “Yes, Madam”. Afterwards, she quickly gained a reputation for performing all of her own stunts and eventually starred in “Police Story 3” alongside Jackie Chan which included her death-defying motorcycle jump onto a moving train. But it wasn’t until her role in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” that she reached international fame also earning her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. This gave her the leeway to further her presence in Hollywood with films like “Memoirs of a Geisha, “Sunshine”, and even had the opportunity to play a Bond girl in “Tomorrow Never Dies” with co-star Pierce Brosnan. Interestingly enough, Yeoh was asked to portray the character Seraph in the “Matrix Reloaded” but was unable to due to scheduling conflicts. She’s also appeared in numerous films with other Hong Kong action superstars like Jet Li in “Tai Chi Master” and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” as well as Donnie Yen in “Wing Chun”. Yeoh’s filmography is far from over however as she is currently playing Captain Philippa Georgiou in the television series “Star Trek: Discovery” not to mention making a cameo as one of the clan leaders of the Ravagers in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” who are rumored to replace the main Guardians in the near future. But her most anticipated movie is a spin-off of the Ip Man series focusing on Max Zhang’s character Cheung Tin-Chi titled “Master Z: Ip Man Legacy” which will also feature Tony Jaa and Dave Bautista. So here are my favorite Michelle Yeoh fight scenes.
